NISformance Maxima

12/07/2019 - (10.97@126)

We have done it!!! NISformance Nissan Maxima Drag car is the first all motor VQ to break into the 10 second quarter mile! Major milestone !!!

After months of trial and error, we have finally broken into the 10 second quarter mile. Several changes were made to the car in the 9 month time span since our 11.35 pass. In addition to these changes we now have a driver for the car. Jacob Silver has joined us in our quest to go fast. He has the experience and the need for speed required.

Changes made include JWT drop in cams,HLSD, and BC racing coilovers.

Our first pass of the day resulted in a broken axle. We were able to replace the axle and continue. Our best MPH of the day was 129.57 MPH, and our best 60' was a 1.6472. Both occurred on separate runs. We were running very consistent times of 11.3-11.5 throughout the day. Until we switched to a 26' slick. The bigger sidewall and added traction allowed us to cut down our 60' and 1/8 ET. Ultimately allowing us to run our current record and a couple of 11-11.02 passes.

This is definitely a huge milestone for the VQ community. We look forward to continuing our quest to go faster. This is just the beginning. In the words of Ricky Bobby "If you ain't first, you're last"

NISformance Nissan Maxima All Motor VQ Drag car sets the world record yet again with a pass of 11.35 in the 1/4 Mile

Fastest N/A VQ35DE powered car for both FWD & RWD platforms. We continue to improve as adjustments are made and seat time increases. This is only our 2nd time out with the car.

With that said we made three pretty significant changes. Weight reduction, race weight dropped 100 pounds from 2,480 to 2,380. Tire change, from a 22.5" slick to a 24.5" slick. Race fuel, Now using VP Fuels "M5" Methanol race gas.

We ran 11.49 for the first pass of the day with a 1.87 60ft. Followed by a 11.40 pass and 1.74 60ft. We were able to make 4 passes total. Our fastest pass of the day was an 11.35 with a 1.72 60ft.

Our 2nd time out with the car went pretty well over all. Traction and suspension setup is by far our biggest issue. We were not able to launch the car without breaking traction well into 2nd gear. Another issue also occurred during the fastest run of the day. The driver side corner of the hood lifted up, not only damaging the hood but also slowing us down right before the finish line.

Proper suspension setup with quality coilovers will be our next big upgrade along with swapping in our cammed engine. We will be aiming for 10's on our next time out !!!

NISformance Nissan Maxima All Motor Drag car sets the world record with a pass of 11.75 in the 1/4 Mile

We set out to become the worlds fastest all motor Maxima, and we were able to accomplish this goal on our first trip with the car !

We ran 11.98 the very first pass with a 1.94 60ft. After that I knew we could get deeper into the 11's. Overall this was our first time to the track with the car. With a few changes and more seat time our times will only improve.

We had a lot working against us. Main issue is the tires are too small at 22”. We need a 24.5 or a 26”. We had to turn the rpm up way past the safe limit on a stock engine just to stay in 4th gear at the end of the track. On the record pass we actually hit the rev limiter at 7500 well before the end of the track and even let off the gas before the finish line. We then turned up the rev limiter to 7800 this picked up our mph to 116 but very unsafe for a stock engine.

Also had a issue with cam timing, need to look at data logs and see whats going on. Either the cam control is not setup completely right yet, or we blew the oil gallery gasket out.
