We wanted to put a package together for VR30s that we feel should be on every car.

Why 0W-40? While the factory specification is 0W-20, that recommendation is primarily driven by fuel economy consideration, not long-term engine health. 0W-40 will provide enhanced protection and contribute to better engine longevity, this is even more important on engines running higher than stock power levels.
Updated OEM VR30 oil dipstick. As listed on Infiniti's service bulletin (ITB20-002), The oil fill volume for the VR30DDTT engine has increased by 0.5 quarts. The old dipstick has an overall length or approx 25", while this new updated dipstick has an approx length of 24.25". The new dipstick reflects an increase in oil fill volume by 0.5 quarts.
When the original equipment plastic engine oil pan on certain Nissan Q50 and Q60 sedans cracks from heat or impact, the dealer repair solution is to offer the same failure-prone design, inviting similar future failures. The Dorman OE FIX oil pan is designed to precisely match the fit of the factory pan, but is made from rugged aluminum for a more permanent and damage-resistant repair.
The drain plug has also been relocated to allow a more complete drain by making the bottom of the plug level with the bottom of the pan. To help protect the engine from harmful metal debris in the oil that results from internal component wear, this pan also features a convenient magnetic drain plug.
